Good game with beautiful graphics, but made only with the normal SEUCK. Taking that into account, it turned out really well. "Star Hero" definitely is a candidate for the enhanced SEUCK engine, that offers more possibilities and for a subsequent Redux version with some improvements. Would be cool, to see a "Star Hero Redux" version some day.

Awsome presentation, on par with the best SEUCK games I'd say. But sooo hard to play - not sure but I think enemies (in normal mode*) take 5 to 10 hits to be destroyed (hard to count without dying). For old-school players like me who expect one-hit-kills (maybe two or more for special enemies), this is hard to get used to. It makes the game less "shoot-em-up" and more "avoid-em-all" - making it even more a test of memory than of reaction.

*That said I discovered your easy mode - not easy at all I think, because of tight space in some areas, but now showing the fun and potential of the game. I paid (again) for the full version just to say thank you for the "easy" mode!

Just maybe advanced SEUCK would help bring more enemies onto the screen further reducing the need for multiple hits on enemies?

Whatever, great talent you displayed here!

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments. I realize the game is a bit difficult, so I set it to the lowest difficulty. The problem with SEUCK is the limited memory available for enemies. I didn't want it to be too short, so to make it a little longer, I increased the number of hits per kill. I'm currently working on another game called scartariX. Check out the videos I've already made available on my ITCH.io, and I'll be releasing another one soon. It's not made with SEUCK, but with a full program, so there will be much more and more enemies on screen. I'm Italian, and my videos are in Italian, but if you use subtitles, you'll understand perfectly. Thank you so much again.

Very nice game!

I use a Kung Fu Flash and SD2IEC to load the D64 files on a C64G but the loading become infinite and not goes to run, can you update the file or solve to use the digital file, thanks.

hello, sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately the basic seuck releases a d64 file with 2 separate .prg inside that an original commodore cannot read in succession. I tried to solve it, but for the moment I have not succeeded. The .d64 must be run by an emulator like the vice. To play it on the original c64 you need to load the .tap version with a special reader like the TAPUINO. I apologize again, I will try to solve it again.

To make a runnable single file version, You will need Dir Master and Exomizer V2.0.9 or higher on your PC. Usually with SEUCK games, the first file on disk is the boot loader.   The second file is the main game. Extract the main game file from the D64 using Dirmaster, and then export it as nameofgame.prg to Exomizer's win32 directory.

Next go to the command prompt and use:

cd:\exomizer\win32

Then type in:

exomizer.exe sfx $4245 gamename.prg,$0900 -o gamename+.prg -f "lda #$00 sta $4244"

This will crunch the game to be runnable as a single file from BASIC.

For C64 beginners, there is an alternative way, that the game can be loaded with a SD2IEC. Simply load the game in a C64 emulator and freeze it with the FC3 modul, when it's completely loaded. The FC3 fastloader, which is present, when the freezed file is later loaded, is compatible with the SD2IEC firmware.

Ah yes, this is what I used to do with my Action Replay MKVI when I made earlier C64 games in the 1990s by using the Shoot Em Up Construction Kit.  Another trick would be to create and save a snapshot to a specifierd file, then use VICE Snapshot to PRG converter, if you use VICE V3.7 or above.  :)

True, what Richard wrote, also the thing with the VICE snapshots and one thing more about this whole freezing thing. The mentioned Action-Replay freezer is probably even a bit better, than the FC3 freezer, but especially when it comes to the SD2IEC hardware, freezing with the FC3 has the advantage, that the FC3 fastloader is already included in the SD2IEC firmware and fully compatible, when it comes to loading this freeze on the SD2IEC in the end. When using an AR cartridge, then it depends on the size of the freezed file. When the file is small enough, that the AR can create a onefiler, out of the freeze, then it's no problem on a SD2IEC and even better, than having two freezed files (that the FC3 always creates), but when the AR must also create two files, out of the freeze (for example when it's to big for one file), then SD2IEC users have the problem here, that the AR fastloader is not compatible and the second file then can not be loaded, on a SD2IEC.

Wow, I did what you said. Everything seems to have worked perfectly. I don't have a way to test it on a real Commodore 64 with KungFu Flash right now, but I'll try this evening or tomorrow. Thanks so much for your help. I hope it works well, so I can replace the original file with this one. Have a nice day!

Grazie ancora

This game deserves a nice title with related music, final ranking and everything.... Very nice game...!❤ The price is too low, I suggest you raise it need up up...!  Great Gfx background and sprite. You used charpad and sprite pad to draw?

hello, thank you very much for the nice compliments! No, I used the options of the SEUCK base for commodore 64. Thanks also for the advice, but I make games to have fun and above all to have fun, raising the price does not marry my philosophy. However, if others will give me this same advice I can do it, not to earn money, but so that others can play it and tell me if they liked it. thanks again

Excellent for a first game, I enjoyed playing it. I added it to my new "Gameplay of New C64 Games from May 2025" video along with other recently released games. I hope you enjoyed the video.

Thank you very much I am honored

Ciao,

Per essere il tuo primo gioco sviluppato con il s.e.u.c.k. base hai realizzato un gran bel gioco che non posso che consigliare.

È stato davvero divertente giocarlo e portarlo sul mio piccolo canale

Bought! Even if the game itself could profit from advanced SEUCK features it is a stunning first try as it is, miles ahead of most other SEUCK games. Maybe Shoriontea can be encouraged to do a Version 2.

many many thanks for the nice compliments. I am really happy that you like it. This really motivates me to do better. Thank you very much.

Checked the Demo. Quite nice for a first try on a C64 game, even with SEUCK. But won't spend any money for it.

If you want ot continue using SEUCK, you may check the SEUCK School at https://tnd64.unikat.sk/

and thanks for the compliment.
It's okay if you don't want to buy the full version.
I understand for many it may be too simple, don't worry.
